Grateful Dead

“Fare Thee Well”

I’m honored to present this portrayal of the Grateful Dead’s core four and friends, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Grateful Dead.

Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh, and Bob Weir reunited and were joined by Trey Anastasio of Phish (guitar), Jeff Chimenti (keyboards), and Bruce Hornsby (piano). They performed at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA for two shows, and then at Chicago’s Soldier Field, IL nearly 20 years to the day from the last Grateful Dead concert, which took place at the same venue. The “Fare Thee Well” shows occurred over these 5 nights on June 27 & 28, and July 3, 4, & 5, 2015, marking the original members’ last-ever official performance together. The group laid down two amazing sets of music each night.

I was fortunate enough to take in the last show in Chicago. I met a gentleman while holding our place in line who commissioned this painting of our experience, and granted me permission to create 50 prints to share with the world.
Here’s to you and your passion…
